When filled with sand or granular fills, GEOGRID-3D Geocells confine the material in its strong yet flexible cellular structure providing a stable base for even load distribution. Downward forces from heavy loads are transferred laterally, reducing loads on underlying soils. This prevents the infill from being forced into the substrate below which can result in deformations and potholes.

The GEOGRID-3D system can be an effective alternative to traditional reinforcement methods. Less costly, onsite soils and recycled aggregates can be used reducing waste removal. The structural and functional behavior of the infill materials is improved and can reduce base depth and material requirements by half allowing for rapid construction.
